Fees
For your convenience, At Home Vet offers two distinct services: veterinary care in the comfort of your home, or in-clinic care in the comfort of ours. Prices for in-clinic care are similar to what you find at other local veterinary hospitals. The benefit of coming to our tiny clinic is that since we don’t have high dog traffic and since there is never any surgery or dentistry performed in the clinic, it does not smell or feel like a hospital… it feels more like a home. Also, there are only 2 clients booked per hour, so you will get a complete half-hour for you and your pet, longer if you have several pets.
In clinic, our prices are as follows:
Complete Exam with Consultation: $58.75
Recheck Exam: $48.75/ Office visit (covers doctor’s time for boosting vaccines or emptying anal sacs, for example): $30 Multiple, well-pet exams: $50.75
On the road, we charge a slightly higher exam cost ($10 surcharge) to cover the additional doctor time that house calls require. In home care is truly a deluxe service, with ample time to visit with your pet and family, and answer all your questions.
We offer house calls between the hours of 9 am-2:30 pm on the road, and in clinic calls from 3pm-5pm. We apologize for not offering more extended hours, but unfortunately gridlock makes later appointment times untenable.
Charges for House Calls are calculated using a zip code map to judge distance from our clinic. Please click here to see the list fees by location. There is only one house call fee per house, not one per pet.
Our charges for vaccines and products are the same on the road or in clinic. Please click here to see a sampling of prices for vaccines. These prices include a consultation for each pet as to its relative risks of contracting a disease vs. risk of vaccination so that an individual plan for specific vaccinations can be designed. This is because not all pets need all vaccines. Over-vaccinating can in itself be a health risk, although we minimize this risk by using only Merial vaccines, which use cutting edge medicine to provide the best protection from disease at the least risk to your pet. Click here for more information about recombinant vaccine technology.
We also offer in-home or in-clinic humane euthanasia. In either case, you will be able to remain with your pet the entire time. At no point will we take your pet away from you. Each pet is treated with dignity and gentleness. You may have as many or as few people present at the time; children are welcome as well. If children are present, the doctor will direct her explanation primarily to them so that they can understand what is going on and not be afraid. We always give a sedative first, so your pet should be calm and comfortable when they float away. For after-care, we offer both private and non-private cremation. In private cremation, your pet will be cremated by itself, and then the ashes will be returned inside a nice urn which you can pick up either at our clinic or at your regular veterinarian’s office. Pet’s that are non-privately cremated are cremated with other pets, and then their ashes are set free in an orchard. Some owners choose to have their pets privately cremated, but ask that we set their pet’s ashes free for them; others choose to bury their pet in a location somewhere that their pet loved in life. Specific prices can be found here, and always feel free to call with questions (425-402-0187).
